The Provincial, Fr. Jacek Nosowicz OMI, along with the Vicar Provincial Fr. Marcin Serwin OMI met with Abp. Francis Leo, Archbishop of Toronto to discuss current and future ministries of the Oblates in the Archdiocese. The archbishop thanked the Oblates for their zeal in working with the new and old immigrants of the Archdiocese in their native languages and for being open to accept new immigrants as they come.
He especially recognized the contributions the Oblates made for recent Ukrainian refugees, the new immigrants in Brampton who continue to find their home at St. Eugene de Mazenod parish and for the immense work being done with the youth. The Archbishop asked that the missionary experiences the Oblates offer to young people continue and grow throughout the archdiocese. His Grace also spoke about new initiatives he would like the Oblates to be a part of and hoped these will set a new path ahead for the coming years. Assumption Province has been present in the Archdiocese of Toronto since the beginning and the Oblates have found their home here almost 150 years ago.
