On Sunday, October 5, took place the establishment of the Pre-novitiate, which is temporarily located in the Provincial House in Toronto. In the presence of the vice-Provincial, Fr. Marcin Serwin OMI, and the Director of the Pre-novitiate, Fr. Jan Kobzan OMI, the first pre-novice, made his promises initiating his formation. He will soon be joined by a second candidate.

When asked about the most important goal of this first period of formation, the Director of Formation, Fr. Jan, who was previously part of the formation team in Cameroon, replied that he would try to help the candidate deeply discern and strengthen his choice to live the Oblate life and deepen his commitment to the life of the Church and his love for the Church.

Our Rule says that:

the Pre-noviciate will help pre-novices to discern and purify their motives for entering religious life. The program will also offer them an experience of Oblate life in its mission to evangelize the poor. (R 54a)
