Fr. Stanley Puchniak OMI's book, "History of Western Canada," covers the Polish Oblates' work in Western Canada from 1896-1970. The book is available in PDF or CD-Rom format, with an e-book version coming soon. Those interested in purchasing the book can contact the provincial office via email at secretary@omiap.org or by phone at 416 767 4760. The book explores how the history of the Catholic Church is intertwined with Canada's history. The Oblate Congregation faced challenges in finding new opportunities until they landed in Canada, where they continued their missionary work through multiple generations. Despite having more comfortable conditions, the life of an Oblate continues to be one of sacrifice and often loneliness, with their faith in God being their only strength.
