At the beginning of July 2024 hurricane Beryl hit the two northern islands of Grenada Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The islands infrastructures and buildings were destroyed in 90 %. From the total of 8 Catholic Churches on those two islands only three fairly survived. The help from around the world started coming first and then, as it usually happens, the matter went off from the news and got forgotten. The people on the islands are slowly rebuilding with their own strength and effort. The Catholic School of St. Peter from Gouyave in Grenada started organizing a help right at the begging of the school year. On December 12th we made a trip to Carriacou to deliver material help for Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic school there. Every child, teacher and school worker received a small Christmas gift in addition to other supplies still needed there after the hurricane. The Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rosary standing in proximity of the school was almost completely destroyed. The only part that remained untouched was the tabernacle, altar and cross hanging on one single nail on the wall above the tabernacle. The hurricane took off the roof, put down the front wall but did not move the cross hanging on one small nail.
