These days our Polish parishes in Mississauga and Toronto have welcomed guests from the north. Father Daniel Szwarc OMI, who serves in Naujaat in the province of Nunavut among the Inuit, flew in with two leaders of their local youth group, Diana Kringayark and Diane Uttak. Asked about the purpose of the visit, Father Daniel said: "We flew mainly to make contact with youth groups in Oblate parishes. For the girls, it will be a good experience of learning about the universality of the Church, getting to know the youth of southern Canada, visiting a big city and seeing beautiful and big churches. These are normal things but for us living in isolated small villages in the Arctic this is all quite exotic. For the young people of the Oblate youth groups, it will certainly be an opportunity to see in person the people of the Oblate missions, the Inuit from the northern reaches of Canada, to taste dried caribou or whale skin." There are many more meetings ahead for Father Daniel and the young Inuit. So we wish them many great experiences and fruitful cooperation with Oblate Youth Canada in the future.
