35 years of the “Domestic Church” community in Canada.
“Always close to the people” - this motto of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, emphasizing, to some degree, our charism, we also carry out in our pastoral ministry among couples and families belonging to the Domestic Church movement in our parishes. This year, this Oasis community derived from the Light-Life Movement of the Servant of God Fr. Francis Blachnicki is celebrating its 35th anniversary in Canada. As Oblates in our parishes (mainly in Mississauga and Brampton), we serve families who form House Church circles and who have monthly meetings in their homes. There are nearly 30 such circles in Canada, and a circle consists of about 4-5 married couples. We also give formation retreats at the Domestic Church's main retreat center in Melrose near London, Ontario. This is such a “Canadian Krościenko" for the Polish community. This year, on the occasion of the jubilee of the Domestic Church and also on the occasion of the Jubilee Year in the Church, we went on a weekend pilgrimage to St. Joseph's Oratory in Montreal, where the community was entrusted to St. Joseph. About 80 people participated. For nearly 3 years, the movement's national moderator has been Fr. Pawel Pilarczyk OMI, who accompanies the national couple - moderators Basia and Zenek Wójcik from Brampton.
