This past week, the Church all over the world celebrated the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The 2022 theme, inspired by the experience of the Magi, was: "We saw the star in the East, and we came to worship him." (Matthew 2:2). This theme and prepared resources spoke to the urgent need for solidarity and transformation in the world, in the face of political, economic and social turmoil. Like the journey of the Magi, this year’s Week of Christian Unity took believers on a journey to Christ’s manger. The Pope said that in a similar way, Christians of diverse backgrounds and traditions "are pilgrims on our way to full unity" who come closer to our goal when keeping our gaze fixed on Jesus. The Pope encouraged us to pray for Christian unity and also offer up our struggles and suffering. For more resources on the Week of Prayer for Christian unity, click here.
